Surface Pro 4 vs iPad Pro: Comparison Between Spec, Features and Release

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is expected to be revealed in a matter of weeks, which is just in time to take on Apple's latest tablet monolith known as the iPad Pro. It is said that the Apple iPad Pro is expected to be the biggest Apple slate ever which is 70 percent lager than iPad Air 2.

Release Date

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is said to be released in October and at the same month that Microsoft is widely believed to be releasing its Windows 10 operating system. So there is a good chance that the Surface Pro 4 will be the first Microsoft tablet to come pre-loaded with Windows 10. Meanwhile, the Apple iPad Pro release date has reportedly been postponed to 2016, as MacWorld reports.

Specifications And Features

There will be two versions of Surface Pro 4, the smaller version featuring a 12-inch display while the bigger one sporting 14-inch screen. Under the hood, the 12-inch Surface Pro 4 tablet will be powered by an Intel Broadwell SoC microprocessor, while the 14-inch display-clad tablet will utilize Intel i5 and i7 chips.

In addition, memory and storage wise, the Surface Pro 4 could double the RAM to 16GB (up from the 8GB in the Surface Pro 3) and have storage of up to 1TB. When it comes camera configuration, there will be an 8 MP rear-facing unit, along with a 3.5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats.

On the other hand, the iPad Pro will come equipped with a 12.9-inch display, supporting a resolution of 2048 x 2732 pixels, which makes it the biggest Apple tablet ever. Under the hood, the iPad Pro will be powered by the upcoming Apple A9 processor and backed by s solid 4GB of RAM. As for the memory, the tablet will have several choices with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of storage.

What’s more, rumors have it that the iPad Pro will be available with a stylus powered by Force Touch technology, similar to the technology seen in Apple Watch and MacBook 2015. Moreover, the device will also include NFC Radio and Bluetooth stylus in order to take the stylus-clad Surface Pro 4 head on.
